yoyaku

Info
Yoyaku is a Paris-based record store, distribution platform, and label ecosystem recognized globally within the underground electronic music scene. Over the past decade, Yoyaku has positioned itself as a key tastemaker in minimal, house, and experimental electronic music culture — operating not only as a retailer but as a curatorial force connecting artists, collectors, and dance floors worldwide.
As part of its 10 Years World Tour, Yoyaku brought its anniversary celebration to Guadalajara, México — a special edition featuring international representatives of the label alongside local talent, reinforcing the bridge between global and regional scenes. The lineup included Yoyaku artists Maxime dB and Hostom, complemented by local selectors.
For this edition, rastro in collaboration with zingulart, led the event’s production, stage design, lighting design, and full audiovisual coverage. The spatial concept was developed to echo Yoyaku’s refined, minimal aesthetic — translating its sonic identity into a controlled yet immersive physical environment.
The 360° configuration dissolved hierarchy, allowing the crowd to experience the sound physically — from every angle, at every distance. for the lighting and stage setup the design and build was a 3.5 × 3.5 m dj booth out of 1/2" steel tube, with a custom top for mixer, cdjs, turntable and live set. the whole structure was wrapped in natural cotton and a second white layer, turning the inside lighting into a soft, indirect glow. above it, a floated 3 × 3 m lighting structure, also in 1/2" steel tube, with laser-cut steel panels inspired by one of yoyaku's records, wrapped in white fabric to diffuse the light. around the space we added 6 screen totems with experimental black & white visuals, moving heads, lasers and spots to build a true audiovisual environment.
rastro also executed full multi-camera documentation of the DJ sets using a three-camera setup, applying a cinematic and aesthetically driven approach. Moving away from conventional static documentation, the visual direction prioritized texture, crowd immersion, intentional framing, and atmospheric pacing — resulting in a more curated and visually cohesive reinterpretation of the live set format.
