Info
an immersive opening celebration for the festival internacional de cine de morelia (ficm), conceived as a spatial tribute to cinema and its collective memory.
rastro led the production design and curatorial direction, transforming the venue into a living cinematic environment, a place where projection, sound, and scenography converged. nine synchronized projectors filled the space with fragments of film history: from early experimental moving images to iconic frames across decades of cinema.
the installation operated as a layered visual collage, evoking both nostalgia and discovery. red theater curtains, classic cinema seating, and shifting light compositions reimagined the venue as an ode to the ritual of film itself, not just as entertainment, but as memory, archive, and shared experience. the result was a celebratory yet contemplative atmosphere: a space where guests stepped into the language of cinema before the festival officially began.
