deja-vu

Info
deja vu is a music video directed by Carlos Vargas for the artist Dark but Gray. Conceived as a visual extension of the track’s atmosphere, the project explores repetition, fragmentation, and emotional recurrence — translating the sonic mood of the song into a controlled, stylized visual language. The direction emphasizes rhythm, body movement, and spatial minimalism, constructing a tension between stillness and choreography.
Produced by rastro in collaboration with Area, the piece was developed through a cinematic approach that prioritizes movement, memory and nostalgia. The choreography becomes a central narrative device, allowing gesture and physical expression to function as emotional architecture within the frame. Through precise camera movement, performance-driven blocking, and a restrained color palette refined in post-production, deja vu positions itself between music video and visual study — where repetition becomes both concept and structure.
