Info
entre lo imposible y el objeto (2025) is a mixed media installation presented in Mexico City, composed of ceramics, generative animation, and digital visuals displayed across four 7-inch screens powered by Raspberry Pi 5 devices. Inspired by the symbolic universe of Leonora Carrington, the piece functions as a contemporary altar — a convergence point where Celtic symbolism, ritual language, technology, and absurdity coexist. It proposes a dialogue between the mystical and the computational, between the handmade object and generative code.
A call from the hidden world. Physical ceramic elements ground the installation in material presence, while digital animations expand its symbolic field into motion and transformation. The generative systems were developed using Adobe Illustrator, Blender, and TouchDesigner, allowing forms to evolve in real time and respond as living visual entities rather than fixed imagery. The four-screen configuration fragments and multiplies the narrative space, creating a distributed visual ritual. Each monitor operates as both portal and artifact — an object containing digital mythologies shaped by algorithm and intention.
For this project, rastro also developed full photographic documentation and an aesthetic aftermovie that extends the installation beyond its physical temporality. The audiovisual approach focused on texture, symbolic detail, and translating the contemplative and ritualistic atmosphere of the piece into a cinematic narrative language. The installation stands at the intersection of memory, surrealism, and contemporary media systems, bridging Carrington’s symbolic cosmology with present-day technological language.
